Total Nonstop Action Wrestling is a professional wrestling promotion which was originally part of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
Background
TNA was formed in 2002 by Jeff Jarrett and his father Jerry Jarrett. Unlike other wrestling promotions such as the WWE, TNA uses a hexagonal ring for all of its matches. After the WWE bought out its major competitors ECW and WCW, the Jarretts decided to start their own wrestling promotion to be the only major competition to the WWE. TNA now holds monthly pay-per-view events, the same amount as World Wrestling Entertainment. TNA's flagship show is TNA iMPACT! which airs weekly on Spike TV.
