TMX Extra Special Edition is an updated version of 2006's Tickle Me Extreme Elmo, which was itself an updated version of the blockbuster 1996 toy Tickle Me Elmo. The toy wears a gold badge and contains more hidden actions that activate when Elmo is moved and tickled in the correct sequence. On a website, Mattel gave rhyming clues to the sequences that would unlock certain behaviors.

Tickle Me Elmo History
The original Tickle Me Elmo was the must-have toy of 1996. Shoppers stood in long lines and even physically fought over the doll, and it was resold for up to $1500. Store employees were injured by shoppers in pursuit of the doll. Other Sesame Street dolls were released to cash in on the Tickle Me Elmo fad, but none met with the success of the original.-
