• TMX (Tickle Me Extreme) Elmo is a special edition of the Tickle Me Elmo toy. It was rolled out for the tenth anniversary of the famous Tickle Me Elmo doll, and achieved a similar level of popularity. When tickled, TMX Elmo laughs, rolls on the ground, pounds his fists and begs the user to stop tickling him. TMX Elmo is shipped in a special box that hides what he looks like. Other TMX toys based on Sesame Street characters were released in the wake of TMX Elmo's popularity.

• Tickle Me Elmo History

  The original Tickle Me Elmo was the must-have toy of 1996. Shoppers stood in long lines and even physically fought over the doll, and it was resold for up to $1500. Store employees were injured by shoppers in pursuit of the doll. Other Sesame Street dolls were released to cash in on the Tickle Me Elmo fad, but none met with the success of the original.
