  • Career

Toriano Adaryll Jackson was born into the musically talented Jackson family on October 15, 1953, in Gary, Indiana. He sang with his brothers Jackie and Jermaine in a band called The Jackson Brothers, formed in the early 1960s. The band eventually became known as The Jackson 5 after brothers Marlon and Michael became old enough to join the group. The band was very successful, becoming one of the most popular pop groups in the 1970s, releasing several albums and singles including ABC and "I'll Be There." In 1976, The Jackson 5 changed their name to The Jacksons after Jermaine left the group and the youngest Jackson son, Randy, joined the group. They eventually disbanded in 1990. In October of 2008, Jermaine announced that The Jackson Five would reunite for a 2009 tour. It was later announced that Michael would not be participating in the tour as he was busy working on other projects.Billboard: Michael In Studio, Won't Reunite With Jackson 5 (October 31, 2008)
