The RMS Titanic was a passenger ocean liner owned by the White Star Lines. The largest passenger steamship at the time of launch the Titanic sunk on April 15th, 1912, four days into her maiden voyage from Southhampton England to New York City when the ship hit an iceberg in the north Atlantic. 1,517 of the ships 2,223 passengers died when the ship went down.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Titanic
A hearing is currently underway to determine whether the RMS Titanic company that found the wreck of the Titanic in 1985 and subsequently recovered artifacts from the ship will either be allowed to claim ownership of the artifacts it salvaged or will be compensated for their recovery.
