Tires are most commonly used to help in the transportation of vehicles ranging from cars and trucks to motorcycles and Airplanes. The invention of the wheel was a breakthrough in the development of early human civilization. It would take a few thousand years later for another breakthrough to follow. Today, modern civilization would come to a standstill without the rubber wheels or tires that literally run it.
The Wheels Go Round and Round
Tires are grouped into different classifications, which are all based upon the type of vehicle they adhere to. Most cars and light truck vehicles have seasonal tires, as well as performance tires. The weight and air pressure of the tries also help not only with balance of the tires but also with gasoline mileage. There are also spare tires or run-flat tires that have low balance, designed for only a short distance. The top three manufacturers are Goodyear, Firestone, and Michelin.

This is a video of the final moments of the last Concorde supersonic jet that flew the skies. It turned out that a piece of titanium inappropriately fitted in the runway caused on the of tires of the Concorde to burst and ultimately cause the plane to explode.
