Person of the Year
Every year since 1927, TIME has named a Person of the Year and featured him or her on their cover. The criteria for selecting the Person of the Year is defined as the person, who "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year." Notable selections include Charles Lindbergh, who was both the first and youngest selection, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose three selections are the most any one person has gotten. Every President of the United States since 1927, with the exceptions of Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, and Gerald Ford, has been selected as the Person of the Year. In 1999, Albert Einstein was named the TIME Person of the Century.About.com: TIME's Man of the Year
