Early Life
Tim Roth, born Timothy Simon Smith, was born in London, England on May 14, 1961. He attended the Strand School and then the Camberwell School of Art. He eventually made his debut on the television screen at the age of 21, in a made-for-television movie entitled Made in Britain.Film Career
Roth's career started in British television and small character roles in British independent films. He began to garner national attention in the Robert Altman film Vincent & Theo where he portrayed Vincent Van Gogh and then the Tom Stoppard film Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.His breakthrough role would however come in the popular film Reservoir Dogs directed by Quentin Tarantino. His performance in Pulp Fiction would cement his status as one of the most versatile and talented character actors in the business. He would be nominated for best supporting actor for his work in the Liam Neeson star vehicle Rob Roy. In 2007, he was the star of the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth and in 2008 he appears as the nemesis of the title character in the film The Incredible Hulk.
