Tim Gunn is a television personality, fashion consultant and style maven. Formerly the chair of fashion design at Parsons The New School for Design. Gunn is the chief creative officer for Liz Claiborne as well as an author.
Gunn rose to fame as the on-air mentor to the competing designers on Bravo reality show Project Runway. Project Runway just completed the 6th season on the Lifetime Network on Wednesday April 22, 2010. Gunn's popularity garnered him a spin-off show, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, and book, A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style.
Gunn's received his own art and design education at the Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington DC, where he studied sculpture. He joined Parsons' faculty as an Associate Dean in 1989 and served as the Dean of fashion design from 2000 to 2007.
Tim is back on Project Runway which premiered January 14, 2010. There are more trips to Mood Fabrics and challenges for the contestants.
This season Tim has had to announce to the team that one of the designers has decided to walk out which was a Project Runway first. This season the challenges have been more elaborate and the rewards have been larger. Including designing an outfit that Heidi Klum wore in the April 2010 cover.

Tim speaks very candidly about his life outside of the mentor of Project Runway. He is very involved with the candidates during the Project Runway season and he is full of advice and help. He admits in this video that he is known to wear flip flops and shorts to the grocery store.
