• Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a golf video game published by EA Sports. Available on all major platforms, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 features many traditional PGA Tour superstars from past Tiger Woods games such as Tiger Woods, John Daly, and Vijay Singh, but also features many newcomers and Tiger's swing coach Hank Haney.

  • Story

    The object of the game is to finish each round with the lowest number of strokes. Players can compete in a variety of game modes including stroke and match play. The most popular game mode is career mode where the player controls one golfer over the course of their career. In this mode, the player not only has the opportunity to participate in all the tournaments throughout a season, but also to gain new sponsorships, new equipment, and improve their skills.

  • Gameplay

    The Tiger Woods PGA Tour series is often criticized for not making very many improvements to the game from year to year. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is very similar to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08, but does include many notable new features that should improve gameplay. Before a player even begins their career in Tiger Woods 09, they will have to complete several skill challenges to establish their skill levels in the game. Unlike previous years where all players started with the same minimum skills and had to improve them during the course of playing, in Tiger Woods 09 these skill levels will be established during the initial skill challenges and then dynamically change depending on how the player plays. Another new addition to the game is performance coach Hank Haney, who is Tiger Woods actual swing coach.   • Online Play

    Similar to prior versions of Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 features online play for up to four people. However, a new feature for the 2009 version of the game is that all four players can now play simultaneously. One major drawback to online play in previous versions of the game was that a round with four people would take a very long time to finish because each player had to watch all of the other players take their shots. In the 2009 release, players will be able to complete the round in the same amount of time it would take for them to complete a round in single player mode.
