The Tibet Torch Relay is a planned leg of the Olympic Torch Relay that will precede the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will be the longest in history, covering 85,100 miles, and including an ascent of Mount Everest. In anticipation of the Torch Relay Ascent of Mount Everest, China and Nepal have Restricted Access to the mountain and made assurances that recent Protests in Tibet will not effect scheduled plans.
