Tia Mowry rose to fame portraying the character Tia Landry in the sitcom Sister, Sister. She acted opposite her sister, Tamera Mowry, in the series. The twins were repeatedly cast in both film and television projects together. Tia struck out on her own in the TV series The Game beginning in 2006, in which she plays Melanie Barrett, the girlfriend of football player Derwin Davis. Mowry's personal life has been refreshingly free of scandal and controversy, compared to many other actresses in her age range. She has said in several interviews that she likes being a role model and makes an effort to ensure her behavior and actions are ones that her fans would like to see. She is also a devoted Christian. After graduating from high school, she attended Pepperdine University, graduating in 2001 with a degree in psychology. Her personal life has been similarly stable.
