Career

Three Doors Down began their career playing a mixture of original songs and covers in the small town of Escatawpa, Mississippi. It was while touring outside of their hometown, in Foley, Alabama, that the three original members, Brad Arnold, Matt Roberts, and Todd Harrell came across a fallen sign reading “Doors Down”. Adding the number Three to represent the three of them, they had the formal name for their group. http://www.3doorsdown.com/page/biography-1

Their first demo was produced at Lincoln Recording in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and the first radio station which played their single, Kryptonite, was WCPR-FM. When the song became the top request at the station, Universal Records signed them for their first major album, ’The Better Life (2000).http://www.woodstock.com/3-doors-down-concerts/ The band spent a majority of the next six years on the road, touring in the US and internationally. Their album Seventeen Days was named for the seventeen days off they had between touring and album recording during the Away From The Sun tour. http://www.3doorsdown.com/page/biography-1
