Thora Birch

Thora Birch is an American film actress. She was the star of the independent movie Ghost World and co-starred in the Academy Award winning film American Beauty.

Thora Birch was born in Los Angeles, California on March 11, 1982. She made her film debut in the film Purple People Eater. She continued to work on various television projects until 1991 when she was featured in the film Paradise starring Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. She continued to land high profile roles in films such as Patriot Games starring Harrison Ford and the comedy Hocus Pocus starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker. She continued to establish herself in children's films such as Monkey Trouble and Alaska. She garnered national attention for her starring role in the Academy Award winning film American Beauty. She followed up that success with her critically acclaimed performance in the the cult independent hit Ghost World.
