  • The Punisher

Thomas Jane's biggest role came in 2004 when he was cast as the lead in the film adaptation of Marvel Comics' The Punisher. Jane originally turned down the role twice, saying that he did not see him self as a superhero and did not have an interest in doing superhero films. When asked once again again to do the film, Jane became interested after seeing Tim Bradstreet's artwork of the Punisher, and when he learned that the character was more of a vigilante anti-hero. To prepare for the role, Jane read many of the Punisher comics and trained with the Navy Seals for several months to get in shape.

Jane was originally set to reprise his role in the Punisher: War Zone, but pulled out of the project.
