  • The Wonder Years followed teenager Kevin Arnold growing up in the 1960s and 1970s. The show is told in the style of a flashback (by narrator Daniel Stern), as if an older Kevin Arnold was looking back at his life.

    The show won an Emmy award for Best Comedy Series after only six episodes had aired.

  • Kevin's Story

    In the first episode, Winnie Cooper's brother dies in the Vietnam War and she shares a kiss with Kevin in the woods. Kevin and Winnie are close friends, but their relationship remains platonic for the majority of the series. Kevin also has a best friend named Paul Pfeiffer.

    Many social issues of this period in American history are reflected through Kevin's eyes, though the main focus of the series is Kevin's romantic interest in Winnie.

    The series has not been released on DVD, due to the expense of acquiring further music rights for the large number of popular songs in the show. The show's theme song is Joe Cocker's cover of The Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends".
