Kevin's Story
In the first episode, Winnie Cooper's brother dies in the Vietnam War and she shares a kiss with Kevin in the woods. Kevin and Winnie are close friends, but their relationship remains platonic for the majority of the series. Kevin also has a best friend named Paul Pfeiffer.Many social issues of this period in American history are reflected through Kevin's eyes, though the main focus of the series is Kevin's romantic interest in Winnie.
Music and DVDs
The series has not been released on DVD, due to the expense of acquiring further music rights for the large number of popular songs in the show. The show's theme song is Joe Cocker's cover of The Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends".
