The Weinstein Company is an independent film studio founded by brothers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, the same people who founded Miramax Films.

Company Partnerships

The Weinstein Company formed a relationship with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 2006, which will allow MGM to distribute content from the Weinstein Company in domestic theaters.
The Weinstein Company attempted to sell exclusive rights to Blockbuster for its rentals, but the law states that other rental companies cannot be prevented from renting Weinstein company movies. However, Blockbuster could still retain the exclusive rights to special features such as deleted scenes.
The Weinstein Company also formed a partnership with Miramax to co-produce the TV show Project Runway on Bravo.
