The 1998 romantic comedy film The Wedding Singer follows a musician (Adam Sandler) and a waitress (Drew Barrymore) who are each facing their own wedding woes.
Plot
Set in 1985, Robbie Hart, played by Sandler, is a highly successful and popular singer, performing as entertainment for weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and other special occasions. Robbie is planning a wedding of his own, but is stood up at the alter by his fiance Linda. Robbie falls into a depression which leads to drinking and poor performances at the following weddings. Robbie then falls for Julia, a waitress played by Barrymore. The only problem is that Julia is engaged to be married to the rich and successful Glenn, who repeatedly cheats on Julia.
