Brief Background and Synopsis
The Wackness is a period piece, set in New York City in 1994. Luke Shapiro (Peck) trades marijuana for therapy and Dr. Squires (Kingsley) obliges. In the meantime, Shapiro develops a crush on the good doctor's daughter, Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby) and Dr. Squires is romantically involved with Union (Mary-Kate Olsen), a girl far too young for him. After winning the Audience Award, Sony Pictures Classics purchased the rights to the film.
