Daytime television talk show The View is hosted by a panel of women from varying backgrounds who discuss politics, scandals and current events. The show has been nominated for an Emmy Award every year since 1999 and won in 2003 for "Outstanding Talk Show". On October 14, 2010, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar left the set during a disagreement with guest Bill O’Reilly. Bill O’Reilly is a Fox News host. The group was discussing the topic of a mosque and community center being built near the 9/11 site. O’Reilly stated, “Muslims killed us on 9/11” and said he felt it was inappropriate for the community center and mosque to be built in that location. Goldberg responded by calling O’Reilly an extremist. Behar told O’Reilly that “she no longer wanted to sit here right now”. Rosie O'Donnell Controversy
Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasslebeck frequently feuded over politics on the show, with O'Donnell being a harsh critic of the Bush Administration and Hasslebeck, a Republican, defending George W. Bush. O'Donnell opted out of her contract early and left the show on May 25, 2007.

Bill O’Reilly was a guest on the TV talk show, The View. During the conversation on the mosque to be built near the 9/11 site, there was a disagreement. Bill O’Reilly stated the Muslims killed us during 9/11. Goldberg and Behar removed themselves from the studio set until O’Reilly explained he meant extremist Muslims.
