The 12th season of the all-women hosted talk show The View premiered the morning of September 2, 2008. The show kicked off with a session of their hot topics, including a roundtable discussion of the election of 2008 including their views on Briston Palin's pregnancy. The newly reunited pop music boy band New Kids On The Block were featured and performed two songs. The ladies promoted The Red Cross in an effort to raise money to help the victims of Hurricane Gustav. Each audience member received a LG TrueCookPlus Microwave.
