At the age of 18, Jessica and Lisa formed their first band, Teal, and released their first single, "Baby It's Over." The single was not successful in Australia, although it did bring attention to the girls songwriting abilities. The duo began writing songs for Australian Idol. The Duo signed their first record deal and released their debut album, The Secret Life of ..., which stayed in the Top 40 of the Australian pop charts for nearly a year. The album peaked at #136 on the Billboard 200 when it debuted in the United States. They followed up with their second album, Hook Me Up which was released in Australia on November 3, 2007.
