The Three Snow Bears

  • The Three Snow Bears is a children's book that puts a wintery spin on the children's story Goldilocks and the Three Bears set in a traditional Inuit village.
  • Plot Synopsis

A young girl Aloo-ki tries to find her sled dogs who were lost on an ice floe. On her journey she discovers an igloo and finds there is no one home. She eats their soup, tries on their boots and crawls in the smallest bed for a nap. While doing this, the bear family rescue her dogs.

    • "Kids will enjoy the variations on a nursery room standard, although the main draw is, as usual, Brett's characteristically detailed art. She pays loving attention to folkways, attiring the bears and other animals in furry parkas with geometric Inuit designs and furnishing the igloo with implements crafted in a native style." - Publishers Weekly Review
    • "It's a lot of fun looking at Jan Brett books. There are always interesting pictures full of detail and the story is light and fun. Kids of all ages tend to enjoy her books and find something in them." - Amazon.com User Review
