The Temptations

Categories: Entertainment
  • The Temptations are a Grammy Award-winning American pop-R&B singing group.

Originally formed by Otis Williams, they were originally named The Elgins. Dressed in suits, the Temptations are known for harmonizing while dancing during performances, and were one of the most influential vocal groups of the 1960s.

Though the group continues to record and perform with Williams, their run with Motown is when they arguably produced their most memorable hits: "Get Ready," "Ain't To Proud to Beg," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," and their signature song, "My Girl."
