The Supremes are an award winning black female doo-wop soul group. They started out being the sister act of the hit group The Temptations under the name "The Primettes". When they signed with Motown Records, they changed their name to The Supremes. Although the classic Supremes lineup consists of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson, the lineup changed frequently especially after Diana Ross left in 1970.
