The Suffering is an action-horror game about Torque, the main character, who finds himself in a prison. He has been convicted of murdering his wife and children, but has no memory of this. Shortly after his arrival, monsters attack the prison and kill many of the guards, leaving him to protect himself and try to find his way out of the prison on his own.
