  • The Stone Roses were an English rock band formed by childhood friends Ian Brown and John Squire in 1984. The band released two albums, The Stone Roses in 1989 and Second Coming in 1994, before disbanding in 1996. They have been a major influence on band like Oasis, The Verve, Stereophonics, and many others.
  • Reunion Rumors

    Since the breakup, Ian Brown has had little contact with his former bandmates. In 2007, Squire stated he had no interest in ever reforming the band. In 2008, bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield reportedly told The Sun newspaper, he, Squire and drummer Alan "Reni" Wren were willing to reunite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album.The Sun: Mani: Roses back in 2009 (December 15, 2008)
