The second season of The Starter Wife also marked the shift from mini-series to series. The Starter Wife originally aired in 2007 as a mini-series which chronicled the life of Molly Kagan (Debra Messing) immediately following her divorce from her movie mogul husband. The television series explores Molly's life as a single mother who attempts to restart both her personal and professional lives.
