  • The Spinners are a Detroit-based Soul group who reached the height of popularity in the early 1970s.

Despite some sporadic success with Motown Records in the 1960s, The Spinners reached commericial success with Atlantic Records. Their first post-Motown album featured two Top 10 hits, "I'll Be Around" and "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love." Success continued with their first #1 hit, "Then Came You" (with Dionne Warwick), and later with "They Just Can't Stop It (Games People Play)" and 1976's "The Rubberband Man."

Though their chart career has since ended, The Spinners continue to tour today, with three of its original members still performing.
