The finale of The Sopranos aired on June 10, 2007. It was the 86th episode of the series (the 21st episode of Season 6), and was entitled "Made in America." The final scene of the episode was controversial because of its abruptness and ambiguity, and left fans wondering what happened to Tony Soprono (James Gandalfini and his family.

Episode Summary
In this episode, Tony attempts to reconcile with Phil Leotardo (Frank Vincent) and the New York crew, but Phil is stubborn and will have none of it. AJ (Robert Iler) decides he wants to join the Army, but Tony and Carmella (Edie Falco) counter by offering him a job as an assistant to a movie producer. Phil gets shot in the head at a gas station, and in a panic, Phil's wife gets out of the car while it's still running. The car rolls over Phil's head. Tony offers Paulie (Tony Sirico) the title of Captain, which Paulie attempts to refuse because of his superstition that the position is cursed. Ultimately, Tony persuades him to take the job. Tony goes to visit Junior (Dominic Chianese), who's dementia has completely reduced him into a shell of a man.In the final sequence, Tony meets his family at Holsten's Diner for dinner. Tony arrives first and plays "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey on the jukebox. Then Carmella and AJ arrive. A man in a Member's Only jacket walks in just before AJ does, and sits at the counter. The Members Only guy gets up and walks to the bathroom. Tony orders some onion rings and they all eat one. Meanwhile, Meadow is outside the restaurant, trying to parallel park. She gets out of the car and runs towards the restaurant. The front door opens and Tony looks up. Then the scene abruptly cuts to black over the lyrics "Don't stop..."
