The Sea and Cake is a pop/rock group that formed in the 1990's in Chicago. Their name is based on a song by Gastr del Sol called "The C in Cake". In 1994, The Sea and Cake released their self-titled debut. The album was a blend of pop, jazz, and soul music, and became an underground classic.
