The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause is an American Christmas themed movie, released in 1994 by Walt Disney Pictures and Hollywood Pictures.

It's Christmas Eve when Scott Calvin hears the pattering of hoofs on the roof. When he goes out to check he startles the perpetrator who is dressed like Santa Claus, accidentally causing him to fall off the roof. Thinking the man was a fake he nudges him, only to find the he has disappeared leaving only his Santa suit and eight reindeer. Inside the suit is a card with instructions to put the suit on if he were to be involved in an accident.

Calvin puts on the suit and the journey begins taking him to the North Pole to fill in for the real Santa. What Calvin didn't know is that was a "Clause" on the card stating that whoever put on the suit would become that new Santa Claus.
