• Joan Jett

  The Runaways were brought together in 1975 and were marketed as a young group of girls who would often perform in leather and lace outfits. Soon Jett and her bandmates had hits under their belts like "Cherry Bomb," and they would go on to perform together from 1975-79. Jett continued her music career by forming the Blackhearts in the 1980s and scored hits such as "I Love Rock n' Roll," while Ford went on to become one of the first and most successful female artists to break through as a heavy metal star.
