The Righteous Brothers

Categories: Entertainment
  • The Righteous Brothers were the singing duo of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. They were seminal artists in the category of Blue Eyed Soul (a subtler term than "white people performing soul music") and as such have been a profound influence on later, like-minded artists, including Elton John, Michael McDonald, Hall and Oates, The Style Council and Robin Thicke. Their hits include the enduringly popular 1965 single "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" (produced by Phil Spector), as well as "Unchained Melody", a song featured in the hit movie Ghost. The duo performed and recorded from 1963 to 2003, when Hatfield passed away, just months after the pair were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
