The Raconteurs are a Grammy Award nominated rock band led by Jack White (of The White Stripes) and Singer-Songwriter Brendan Benson that mix Garage Rock riffs with Pop inflected melodies. While the band members are better known for their previous musical projects, the group has achieved a modest level of success on their own, with two successful albums and a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Rock Album.
The band's second album, "Consolers of the Lonely" had an unconventional release. The band mastered the album the first week of March in 2008 and released it to the public on March 25th. The band has toured around the world and played numerous festivals including Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival, T in the Park in Scotland, Oxegen festival in Irelland, The Open'er Festival in Poland, Glastonbury Festival, Lollapalooza, and Reading and Leeds Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Treasure Island Fesitval and "The Eden Sessions" at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
In a February 2010 interview, Brendan Benson said the following regarding an new Raconteur album: "Not as of yet. I mean, I think we’re all just really focused on other things. I barely talk to those guys. We’re all busy, but it will, like it always does, it will come around and we’ll get together again and hang out and maybe make a record or maybe not. It’s a real spontaneous thing, really. The Raconteurs was, is and always will be, hopefully, should be spontaneous. If we feel like doing it. We’re not contractually obligated, we don’t need it. Salute your Solution
This video is The Raconteurs official music video for their single, "Salute Your Solution" off of their "Consolers of the Lonely" album. The video is directed by Autumn De Wilde who has also directed music videos for Tegan and Sara. The video is shot entirely in black and white and the footage of the band playing is shot in stop-motion.
