The Pretenders are a Rock band who are closely associated with the Punk and New Wave movements of the late 1970s. Led by lead vocalist and core member Chrissie Hynde, the band has released 12 acclaimed albums and a number of hit singles during their career. While the group has gone through a number of changes throughout its lifetime, the band continues to write and perform. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
