The Police are a three-part British rock band consisting of members Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. They became internationally popular during the 1980s. Their style of music was influenced by jazz, reggae and punk. Since forming, the group has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Rolling Stone ranked them as one of the 100 Greatest Bands of All Time.
The band broke up in mid-80s but reunited in 2007 for a world tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their hit single "Roxanne" and their formation as a group. The band's final show was held in New York City on August 7, 2008.
