The Philanthropist is a new television show in development from NBC. The show will revolve around billionaire Teddy Rist who is obsessed with money and woman. After the death of his child he sets out to help those in need and those who have been wronged. Besides finances, he will use all resources at his finger tips which include high power contacts and connections. His basic motto is that nothing is too dangerous to help one in need. He will travel to the ends of the earth and meet with seedy people to get the job done. The Philanthropist was conceived by Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana who have worked on such television shows as Oz and Homicide: Life on the Street.
