  • Plot Synopsis

The Old Man and the Sea is about a fisherman named Santiago in the twilight of his dangerous and slowly dying career. He goes to sea for one of his final times and hooks a magnificent marlin. It takes him three days to kill the willful fish. Because he has gone out too far into the ocean, Santiago has left himself open to attack. Sharks and other sea creatures attack Santiago, his now dead fish, and the boat. When he finally returns home Santiago has only a skeleton of his catch, but still receives accolades from his town and the adoration of his assistant.
  • Critical Reception
