• The Nightmare Before Christmas is a stop motion animated musical film about Pumpkin King Jack Skellington, who is bored with the daily Halloween celebrations in Halloween Town. He discovers the holiday of Christmas and embarks on a misguided quest to make it his own.

  Creator and producer Tim Burton said that he was inspired to create the story after watching store employees replace their Halloween merchandise with Christmas displays.

  Both a critical and commercial success, The Nightmare Before Christmas won the Golden Globe in 1994 for "Best Original Score" and was nominated for a "Best Visual Effects" Academy Award. In 2006, it was remastered in digital 3D for theatrical and DVD release.
