The Next Food Network Star is a reality based cooking competition where the winner receives their own Food Network show. Ten contestants will compete in the upcoming season which is scheduled to debut on June 7, 2009. The season 5 guests judges are to include Rachael Ray, Emeril Lagasse and Ina Garten.

Season 5 Competitions
Each week the contestants will have to participate in different challenges meant to test their culinary skills. In season 4, they will have to impress Ina Garten from The Barefoot Contessa, serve meals to returning soldiers at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. They will fly to Miami, Florida, for the first time in the shows history and compete in a Red Lobster challenge, where they will use their skills on a wood grill.
