The New Deal was a series of relief and regulatory programs started by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to improve the economy during The Great Depression. Roosevelt utilized the power of the presidency to push drastic legislation throughout the New Deal era, and while some of his programs were ultimately deemed unconstitutional, several New Deal programs remain intact. the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Securities Exchange Commission are a couple examples of New Deal programs still in operation.
