The second film in The Mummy series, The Mummy Returns follows Rick and Evelyn O'Connell as they race to rescue their kidnapped son from an Egyptian cult.

A 2001 summer tentpole film, The Mummy Returns grossed over $200 million in U.S. ticket sales and over $230 million overseas. The film also benefited from considerable merchandising, with sales of action figures and video games for the Playstation 2 and Game Boy Color.The Scorpion King proved less successful.
