ABC's reality show The Mole debuted in 2001 and was aired for a total of five seasons between 2001 and 2008. The first two seasons were hosted by Anderson Cooper, and the two seasons of Celebrity Mole were hosted by Ahmad Rashad. The 2008 season returned to citizen contestants, and this series was hosted by John Kelley. Contestants vie for a prize that could reach $500,000 and seek to learn the identity of "The Mole."

The Role Of The Mole
The Mole single-handedly works to subversively undermine the other players and cause them to lose their winnings. The Mole must also keep their identity a secret, as the player who is the least aware of that identity at the end of each episode will be expelled from the game.
