The Misfits are a horror-themed punk rock band from New Jersey, the original lineup of which, led by singer Glenn Danzig, dissolved in 1983. Guitarist Jerry Only reformed the band in 1995 without Danzig, but it's the band's original period that most fans associate with the name The Misfits. The sound was a bizarre combination of catchy Ramones-esque melodic punk, with lyrics more gruesome than Alice Cooper's, and vocals in the key of Elvis.
