Early Years
The Melvins music has been rooted in punk and Sabbath-style heaviness since they formed in 1982. They released several albums and EP's independently until 1993.Atlantic Records
The Melvins signed with Atlantic Records and released their first major label album, Houdini in 1993. The group released two more albums on Atlantic before they were dropped in 1997.Amphetamine Reptile/Ipecac
After being dropped by Atlantic the Melvins released their next album, 1997's Honky, on Amphetamine Reptile. In 1999 the band signed to Mike Patton's Ipecac Records. Since then, they have released seven album.Current Lineup
They have experienced numerous line-up changes over the years. Main song-writers Buzz Osborne a.k.a. King Buzzo and Dale Crover have remained a constant since 1984. The current line-up consists of Osbourne and Crover along with drummer Coady Willis and bassist Jared Warren of the band Big Business.-
