The Matarese Circle

The Matarese Circle is a new film based on the novel of the same name by Robert Ludlum. Ludlum is the author behind all the wildly successful Jason Bourne films starring Matt Damon. The Matarese Circle novel was published in 1979. Denzel Washington is reportedly attached to play the hero of the story. The story's plot revolves around an American agent and a Russian agent, previously enemies, who now must work together in order to take down a group known as the "Matarese". Variety.com reports the book deal was worth approximately $3 million, with an additional $2 million going to the screenwriters for their adaptation.
