    • There is 13 Official Zelda Games
  • The Legend of Zelda is the first in a series of video games created by Nintendo. There has been much praise for the game; some critics say it is the greatest series of all time, while others say it is one of the most influential series ever. The game was in Japan 17 months before it was released in the United States. The Legend of Zelda was first featured in the United States on the Nintendo Entertainment System; Nearly 20 years later, it was made available for the Game Boy Advance. The game was one of the first in Nintendo's history to use the save system.
  • Storyline

Set in the land of Hyrule, the game follows the journey of Link, a young boy whose goal is to rescue Princess Zelda, who has been captured by the evil Ganondorf. Before Link can battle Ganondorf, he seeks out the eight pieces of the Triforce. The eight pieces are held in guard by eight different evil monsters.
  • Gameplay

The Legend of Zelda was one of the first games to combine several different styles: role playing, action and puzzle. Players follow Link from a top-down view as he ventures through Hyrule.

    • Action: Throughout the game, monsters stand in the way, and Link must get rid of them. As the game progresses, the monsters become stronger and more frequent.
    • Role Playing: Link must talk to some people in Hyrule in order to obtain certain items such as potions, arrows and rings.
    • Puzzle: In certain parts of Hyrule, as well as the dungeons, Link must figure out the in-game puzzle in order to move along in a dungeon or earn an item. Sometimes, it involves moving a block, destroying all the monsters on the screen, or both.
