Directed by Martin Scorsese, The Last Waltz is a documentary film of The Band's farewell performance in 1976. Interspersed with the concert footage are interviews with band members and stock footage of past performances and recording sessions.

The Band was joined on stage by several of the most influential and successful recording artists of the era, including Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Neil Young and Van Morrison.
