• Production

  The production faced several obstacles, most notably an inability to shoot in Saudi Arabia. The chase and shootout sequence was filmed on a constructed set near Mesa, Arizona. The sets were based on Peter Berg's photographs and descriptions of Saudi Arabia.

  Garner twice collapsed on the set in Arizona, as the temperature rose over 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

• Public Reception

  The Kingdom performed modestly at the U.S. box office, grossing $17 million in its opening weekend and ending with $47 million in revenue.

  The popularity of the film has increased on DVD, with over $75 million in rental profits.
